Catalog quality (2026 Meta spec)

3/6 ready

Meta validates the catalog feed strictly — items with the wrong shape silently drop from Instagram Shop and from dynamic-ad inventory. This checklist mirrors the worker's payload builder so you can spot a gap before sync fires.

  • Price string format

"12.99 GBP" (decimal + space + ISO-4217). Enforced by the catalog builder.

  • sale_price on discounted items

Emitted automatically when compareAtPrice > priceAmount. Renders the strikethrough on Facebook + Instagram.

  • HTTPS image links

Meta rejects http:// and data: URLs. The builder filters them and falls back to the storefront URL when no HTTPS image is present.

  • Up to 10 additional_image_link

Carousel and dynamic-ad creative pulls from images 2..11. Upload more product images to fill out the carousel.

  • google_product_category + product_type

Set per-product under Meta-specific attributes in the product editor. Meta uses Google taxonomy as the core category attribute in the 2026 spec.

  • Item specifics (color, size, material, gender, age_group)

Surface in dynamic creative and search relevance. Forwarded from products.metadata.meta.

Instagram image aspect

1:1 recommended

Instagram Shop tiles render at 1:1. Off-ratio images get a centre-crop that often cuts the product out of frame. The product image uploader warns you inline when an upload is off-ratio — fix those before pushing to Meta for best Shop placement.

Disconnect

Marks the integration inactive. Mercentia stops pushing catalog updates; items already on Meta keep serving until they expire or you remove them from Commerce Manager.
